Prepare for Season 2!
Nursing the Nation will be back this June
Melissa Anne and I are prepping for our Season 2 launch this JUNE! Keep an eye out for the official launch date. We have been taping episodes (and I am slowly editing what I haven’t accidentally erased…) in preparation, but today the universe was telling us wait. Melissa Anne lost power 20 minutes in and at the same time my daughter’s school had an emergency closure (also due to electrical issues). It’s over 90 degrees here in New England, so not the best day to have these snafu’s. But we are nurses….we roll with it!
Today I am soft-launching our announcement for sponsorships. What exactly does this mean? Well, Nursing the Nation (NTN) will ALWAYS be free for everyone. Think of it like public radio or television. But like everything in life, it takes money to do this work (or as Ben Franklin might muse, it’s as sure as death and taxes)! Anyone who feels compelled to support our work can- in any dollar amount you choose, once or as a recurring sponsorship. Here is our official pitch:
Of course, we think we are worth it, but Leslie from the International Academy of Nurse Editors (INANE) or Janie from The Porch Light might explain it better:
There is a reason that Americans have rated nurses as the most trusted, honest, and ethical professions in this country for the last 24 years. The failure of media (dare I say… main stream media?) to bring nurses voice to the conversation is a journalistic failure. Melissa Anne and I bring what no C-Suite hospital executive, policy maker, or financial talking head can do: give the boots on the ground perspective of how policy and politics land on real patients in real time. We translate current events across from the country, from DC, and elsewhere to provide the grounded, real world human element through the lens of nursing. Sponsoring NTN is an investment in restoring the missing voice in American health discourse, aligned with the profession the public trusts above all others to tell them the truth.
Thank you so much for following us and our work. We are truly honored that you’ve taken the time to listen, to follow us here on Substack, and to consider a sponsorship of our work.
